CAROLE LILLY

Owner & Massage Therapist

In 1996, I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis—a cousin to Rheumatoid. My joints and body began to hurt most of the time, despite shots and medication. I found that if I got up and moved, I felt better. If I got a massage on a regular basis, I felt even better. I wanted to share this enthusiasm for feeling my best with others, so in 2008 I founded Carole Lilly Massage.

I started offering therapeutic massage sessions in a small treatment room all by myself. I began taking as many advanced massage courses as I could, and brought these new techniques back to my sessions where we were seeing great results. This sparked a lifelong passion for education and a “beginner’s mind” curiosity in my approach to massage. Currently, I support clients in areas of relaxation, pain relief and ongoing maintenance. Some of my favorite styles of massage include Esalen Massage, Therapeutic Massage and Myofascial Release. Today, we have grown and expanded into our larger home at the McGuire Health Building with a diverse group of massage therapists and services. Our family of therapists share my passion and devotion to advanced massage training and practice.

Morgan Slucher

Office Assistant

Morgan is a student at Western Carolina University, pursuing a degree in Marketing, and a minor in Studio Art. With Scoliosis, and sports injuries alike she realized massage was such a large part in her recovery and maintenance process. With this she wanted to be a part of the process to help others reach that point.

Some of her favorite hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, spending time with her adopted pup Olive, and all things art related.

RACHEL GWILT

Massage Therapist

In my first massage I was amazed in the effects it had on my mind, body and spirit. I fell in love with how the anxiety and stress I carried in my body fell away during these times and found myself able to reconnect to my body. It was during massage I found myself feeling a greater wholeness. In my desire to understand this more and give others what massage had given me I trained and became a Massage Therapist.

My style is rooted in Swedish Massage techniques while integrating detailed work on trouble areas. I use a combination of relaxing strokes and trigger point release. I also offer deep tissue massage.

When I am not practicing massage, I love exploring WNC with my husband and our two dogs.

I hope to help you reconnect with yourself. Helping you feel more grounded while leaving you light and at ease. I look forward to supporting you along your healing journey!

Assistant Manager

Racheal is a student at Western Carolina University, pursuing a degree in Psychology and a minor in Communications. She loves people and finds joy in making people smile.

Racheal is fascinated by bodywork and the incredible things it can do for one’s mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Racheal hopes to one day use her experiences to make a positive impact on the world.

In her free time, Racheal loves to laugh, work as a glass blower, spend time with friends and family, and find new ways to make the world a better place.

STEVE MCLAUGHLIN

Massage Therapist

My life’s journey has led me down many different roads, but my interest has always been to help others. I have served in the massage field for almost 30 years. During this time, I found that not only have my techniques grown, but I also discovered a skill for explaining what I was doing, and its implications to both clients and students.

After a college football injury, I found massage to be an integral part of my healing process. It eased tightness, helped me relax and got me back to enjoying life. I wanted to bring this work to others, so I enrolled in the Somerset School of Massage Therapy in central New Jersey. It was during this time that I gained a lifelong passion for massage.

This passion led me to teaching a variety of classes at the massage certification level and Continuing Education level. Currently, I enjoy teaching Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) to licensed massage therapists and providing sessions for my clients. Some of my favorite styles of massage include Neuromuscular Therapy and Therapeutic Massage.

Annette’s favorite hobbies include reading, drawing, cooking, playing video games, watching movies, and hanging out with friends. Her future goal is to share her creativity and artistic passion as a designer, specializing in commercial interior design.

SARAH LILLY

Office Manager

Sarah is a graduate of University of Hawaii with a concentration in Animal Sciences. She has gained experience as a Vet Tech, Office Manager, and Trainer at Honolulu Vet Clinic.

Some of her favorite hobbies are hiking, photography, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her adopted cat, Sprout. Her biggest dream is to study veterinary medicine and open her own vet clinic!
